IPAF is pleased to share that BSI has published two new codes of practice for powered access platforms: BS 8460:2025 ‘Safe Use of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) – Code of Practice’ and BS 7981:2025 ‘Mast Climbing Work Platforms (MCWPs) – Selection, Configuration, Installation, Maintenance, Thorough Examination and Safe Use – Code of Practice’.
BS 8460:2025 -complete restructuring and new guidance including risk-assessment, wind and load-handling, use with fall-arrest gear, machine controls, re-commissioning after idle periods, and much more.
BS 7981:2025 – guidance on selection, installation, maintenance, thorough examination and safe use.
