INFORMATION ABOUT SAFETY NETTING, EDGE PROTECTION, STAIR TOWERS & PLATFORM DECKING

Working at height presents significant risks, making comprehensive safety solutions essential to protect workers and ensure compliance with UK regulations.

FASET (Fall Arrest Safety Equipment Training) develop and issue industry standards in line with the latest Work at Height Regulations, providing robust safety measures for construction and maintenance projects involving the following access types.

FASET also provide training for installers and managers in all disciplines. FASET Corporate Members instal and maintain these systems.

Safety Netting

Safety nets are a vital component in collective fall protection systems. Designed to catch personnel they reduce the risk of injury and save lives.

Edge Protection

Edge protection systems are crucial for preventing falls from the edges of floor levels, roofs and other elevated workspaces. Edge protection solutions, including guardrails, toe boards, intermediate protection and mesh barriers, should all be compliant with BS EN 13374 standards and designed to be durable, easy to install and adaptable to various site conditions.

Stair Towers

Stair towers offer a stable and secure means of access for workers, tools, and materials to elevated platforms and structures. Our stair towers are designed and installed to meet BS EN 12811 standards, ensuring robustness, stability, and ease of use. Our members provide both temporary and permanent stair tower solutions that are adaptable to a wide range of construction environments.

Platform Decking

Platform decking offers a safe and stable working surface at height, facilitating efficient workflow while minimising fall risks. Platform decking systems should be supplied and installed to meet BS EN 12811 standards, providing both temporary and permanent solutions tailored to a project’s specific needs. Decking systems should be versatile, easy to install and designed to integrate seamlessly with other safety measures.

Key information for all systems includes:

  • Design and Installation: FASET systems are specific to site requirements and installation should be in accordance with relevant standards.
  • Inspection and Maintenance: Regular inspections must be carried out to ensure continued compliance with the Work at Regulations.  All inspection and maintenance activities should be carried out to relevant standards.
  • User and Manager Training: Ensuring operatives and those responsible for managing the systems on site are competent in the proper use and management of the system.
