The AIF joined around 60 attendees (members of Parliament, other trade bodies and industry leaders) in Westminster last week to discuss the impact of the Work at Height Regulations being repealed.
We were attending a meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Working at Height and the topic of conversation was the Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Bill that is making its way through Parliament.
Support for the #WorkatHeight Regulations was clear. AIF Chair Peter Bennett OBE, spoke on behalf of AIF members, telling attendees that we’re seeking a categorical assurance that the regulations won’t be repealed.
And until then? As Peter said: “If we don’t make a noise, there’s a risk Ministers might think we’re not bothered. We need to keep making a noise until we know these regulations have been saved.”
If you haven’t already, please write to your MP and ask them to press the Government to safeguard the Work at Height Regulations.
